Cockfosters Cricket Club was founded in 1873 and has a rich history of Cricket in the Cockfosters, North London area. Residing in what is a quintessential ‘English cricket’ setting, Cockfosters can boast the names of cricket legends like Chris Cairns in the professional ranks and Jack Hyams in the amateur ranks to have both donned the colours of Cockfosters Cricket Club in competitive league cricket. Other playing members have gone onto represent Middlesex CCC and Hertfordshire CCC at youth and senior competitive levels respectively. Also, in more recent years, we have nurtured through our youth ranks the likes of George Panayi who is currently playing for Warwickshire Academy and England U17s (we wish George all the best for the future). Many other youth members have had the opportunity to flourish in county youth trials.
Cockfosters prides itself on playing the most competitive cricket it can in the true ‘Spirit of Cricket’ and shows fantastic commitment to the youth section and community in general. We hold a ECB Clubmark accreditation that proves this commitment.
Further to our commitment to cricket, we have recently invested heavily in our playing surface which soon, no doubt, will be one of the best wickets to play on in Hertfordshire area and probably most of North London.
We are always on the lookout for new players who can improve Cockfosters Cricket Club at all our competitive levels and become part of our community. We offer great travel links from King’s Cross and the rest of North London & Hertfordshire…
